Phi Theta Kappa Alumni of Washburn University will be holding our second annual 5K Run (“April Duel II”) on the Washburn University campus in Topeka, Kansas on Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 10:00-11:00 AM.
The 5K will raise funds for PTKAW members to attend the Phi Theta Kappa Catalyst (International Convention) in Kansas City, MO, in April 2018. One half of the proceeds will benefit our long-time volunteer partner Community Health Ministry, based in Wamego.
All runners across northeast Kansas are invited to participate as runners or volunteers. There will be no fee for runners, but we will have a suggested donation of $15.
PTKAW will need volunteer help in the following areas:
• Crossing guards to direct participants on campus (at least 11 needed)
• Water stations
• Registering runners/taking donations
The 5K Route will be different than the first 5K run held last April. Details will be published before the run.
Registration begins at 9:00 AM, location TBD (likely starting line). The run itself goes from 10:00-11:00 AM.
Anyone who wants to participate, either as a runner or volunteer or who has questions, can e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org, message us through our Facebook page, or leave a comment on our website. We look forward to ringing in spring with you and helping our members achieve a long-held goal!
